Are you living a "Groundhog Day" - Do you fear your Shadow?

Alas! must it ever be so?
Do we stand in our own light, wherever we go,
And fight our own shadows forever?
~Edward Robert Bulwer Lytton

I don't think that the Groundhog comes out of its hole every year with the intention of impacting millions and millions of humans every year. The reality is that it simply wants to find a mate. It is a primal instinct. The fact that it "sees or doesn't see" its shadow is more about the warmth of current temperature in its location and its ability to find a mate "ready" for the business of procreation.

The urban myths of Groundhogs and the relationship to its shadow is one of fear and hiding. It sees its shadow and BAM... six more weeks of winter is upon us and off it goes back to its warm burrow beneath the ground. Let's look at this from a "Change" perspective.

What shadow(s) do you have that are making you run for cover back into your burrow? What shadow is making you put off for another 6 weeks the change or things you know deep down in your heart that you must change?

You know what this is! The little voice in the back of your head that quietly screams out at you when you make a statement, a decision, an action that isn't in alignment with your "true calling". Even if you are not 100% clear on what that "True Calling" is that little voice screams at you to stop. This is your shadow creeping into the forefront and taking over. It is the shadow that is forcing you to run for cover. Isn't it time to recognize your shadows and stop letting them "Block your Light".

Take sometime this week to look at what shadows you are casting? Are they all on you or are you casting a shadow over your loved ones and colleagues in addition to yourself?

Send me your thoughts. I would love to hear.
